4 Months...

A couple days ago my Ziona turned 4 months old, which kind of blew over my mind like a light breeze as I desperately tried to find the box that stored her 12 month clothing and sleepers; it turns out I only have a  couple outfits for that size.

So Saturday had a friend and I at Cost-co determining the merits of mermaids, butterflies or Fruit loops decorating the fronts of two-piece pajamas (oh so much easier to change a diaper than a zippered piece).  Today we are off to do something truly delightful...Vaccines!  I am still on the fence about getting her ears pierced...What do you think?

  2. Was searching for my GF's blog and came across yours. Loved your thoughtful reasoning and description and pictures of having your dd's ears pierced as an infant. She is adorable with those little earrings. I think you were a super smart mommy for doing it now when mommy can care for them. She'll thank you later!

Our ped also encouraged to do it when mommy could care for them. I think babies and little girls with pierced ears are adorable. It celebrates their femininity and femaleness. Like you, I kept seeing babies and little girls with earrings and how cute they were with little gold studs in their ears poking through their hair.

Our ped gave me some suggestions for moms having their infant dd's ears pierced as well as for "Tips for moms having their dd's ears pierced/Care of Newly Pierced Ears."

If you or any other moms thinking about it and want to do it now or would like them, write me an e-mail.

  3. She is adorable. Where has the time gone?

I vote "no" for the piercing. It is a nice celebration of entering "womanhood" in their life when the time comes.

I'd go with getting the ear pierced now, I made my girls wait until they were 7 or 8 and then we were taking them out too soon so they could play soccer, basketball, etc. In this day and age - being athletic is almost assumed at some level and earring are considered dangerous. If I had it to do over, the ears would be totally healed long before that became an issue.

  5. What a little cutie!! I got both my girls' ears pierced around their first birthday. I am really glad I did it then... Now, at ages 4 and 6, they are very happy they have them and there is no worries about taking care of them.
