A Renewed Purpose

This is my new crafting area (in our bedroom) in all it's messy glory along with my little helper!
So do you remember back in July when I wrote THIS POST?  I had gathered up all the projects I wanted to get completed for the quarter (July/August/September).  But I had a small problem: even though I had my post up, I forgot to actually go link up to the pre-season linky party and missed it by I think an hour, lol.  (You can check out the 2nd Quarter sign-up HERE).  I am sincerely okay with it though because I have been pretty lax on getting my projects completed this quarter.  I have been healing from another miscarriage.

This is not something I would normally bring up but I wanted to share what I have learned in the past month.  I have had many sweet notes and messages, but thankfully a dear person sent me a note encouraging me to move beyond my grief.  Sometimes the healing comes from actually just getting back into life.  I will never forget all the children I have lost, in the past 1.5 years alone I have had 3 pregnancies, 5 of my children have passed away in my life (1 from another pregnancy long ago), but I have a 6th child who depends on me to care, nurture and love her.  One cannot hope to recapture the past, but in time the hurt can heal.  I need to press on.

So I may not win any prizes, receive any awards, or gain any more standing in the quilting world, but the greatest thing I shall do is to move on, living my life to the fullest.  So I will do my best to complete projects, but if they do not get completed there is always next Quarter!

If you have a bit of time over the next couple of weeks, please check out:

  2. I lost a full-term baby many years ago. It does get better with time, but it can take a long time. These little souls touch us only briefly, but they touch us very deeply.

  3. You have had so much loss, but you also have such a gorgeous little one that you sacrificed greatly to hold on to. I know the joy she gives you each and every day and I hope that helps to ease some of the pain.

She also looks vry happy to be in your new sewing area!!!!

  4. I am so sorry for your loss. I had 3 miscarriages before having my 2 beautiful girls so I can understand your grief. Your little Ziona needs you to be there for her. Thankfully you have quilting to help you get through the rough patches and your family to remind you of the love and happiness that is there too. Glad to see you seem to be on a good path.
Your new sewing space looks great!
