I did it! I finally pulled the last blooming thread from the quilt a couple days ago. Miss Z has taken to rearranging the furniture to climb upon the dining table and lay down upon it, rubbing her sticky little hands across the ridges in the blocks. So I would certainly say she has claimed it for her own, even if I thought I had other plans for it! But now Miss Z has a bit of fall allergies and needs more cuddle time than usual, so I will start the re-stitching next week with some aurfil thread I picked up to try a couple months ago.
I have some other project news I want to share with you, but that will have to wait as well. I will also post the pictures of my rearranged crafting area, it has been a long time coming. I wish I had a picture to share with you, perhaps tomorrow I will see what I can capture.

Return Project #1: The Big Fix
Mama Sparks had the most encouraging and beautiful posting the other day and my heart just ache to return working on some projects. My goal is to pick a few projects in progress and post a few pictures a week with an update.
Project #1 RED EYE Quilt:
This picture was first posted about 2.5 months ago; believe it or not I am not much further at this point. I still need to rip out all the stitches from the top stitching. Tonight I shall sit back, watch some TV and do a little seam-ripping! I still have to order new thread but I think I just might have the perfect piece of fabric for the binding already in my collection.

So Far Away...
Do you ever feel disconnected from those around you? Sometimes I feel like life is going by as though I am on the center of a spinning merry-go-round. I see life passing by in a blur, so when I try to reach out to touch all the fast-flown imagines I grasp nothing instead. That has been what has been happening for me the past couple of months. I blinked and suddenly I am looking at the far side of July. How does that happen? I miss you all, this lovely world that supported me through the loss of 4 children, celebrated with me on the birth of my darling, and encouraged me as I strove to be a better quilter and a better woman.
I simply adore being able to stay home & care for my daughter, It is a gift that no amount of money would be tempting enough to exchange this time. I see my long list of works in progress and I wistfully miss being able to have completed projects about me. And then I hold my growing child in my arms as she cries awake in the middle of the night, awoken by the sharp pain of incoming teeth. As she snuggles deeper into my hold I smell her hair that tickles my nose and hear her softly muttered jabbering, my heart aches as I know this time is but a wisp of time that I cannot clutch into my hands.
There is a pile of projects that grace my shelves, drawers and work surface in my bedroom. They call to me, and I think this next week I shall listen to their tempting voices. I am tentative to promise you that I will accomplish much, but I will see what I can do. Thank you for sticking with me, stopping by though I have not posted in a full 2 months. I never intended that it would go that way, but it has and so I shall move forth...

Its For the Birds Blog Hop--Day 4

| Miss Z at 7 months old |
I used I think Sew's Ella Raglan Blouse Pattern, I chose the Next size up from her current size and then I added about 4 inches. It comes down to her ankles, but it will be up to her knees before too long! I have two more of the exact nightgown in process only I plan to use a different colored biased tape where you see Pink.
